About the Artist

My earliest childhood memories include watching clouds and making up stories about what I saw in them. Awe-inspiring life in visual essentials - light, dark, balance, tone, and ever-changing movement.

I see all things ART. And, I tend to see all things abstract. Abstractions of reality. Or the reality of abstraction. Inspired by both.

I paint with acrylic paint, powdered charcoal, coffee, Indian ink, sunflower oil, water, and anything else I pour on the canvas as I attempt to create new textures that magically appear.  There are no mistakes in art.

My favorite artist. Jackson Pollock. (1912 to 1956). He is known to be a leading figure in the abstract expressionism movement. I love how he simply threw paint.

The palette knife is my tool of choice. Wide sweeps of color across a new canvas I find exhilarating. Not knowing in advance the exact outcome of the piece is an important part of the work.

For me, visual art provides interpretation and inspiration toward a deeper understanding of the physical nature and complexity of the heart. I love the color. I love design. I love movement. I love the pieces of life that make us who we are.

The canvas is my place to communicate with you.
